UCSD’s STRAND meetings

This is the website for UCSD’s A&A “STRAND” (Simulations TheoRy AND more) meetings. This is a new seminar series at the UCSD Astronomy & Astrophysics department to hear about the latest updates in theory and simulations. We meet on a weekly basis during the semester, with meetings usually taking place on Thursday mornings at 10:00AM PT and on ZOOM. See https://astro.ucsd.edu/events/index.html for more details of the events.

The STRAND meetings are organized in collaboration with many of the theory-oriented faculty at UCSD A&A and Physics departments but are currently organized by Kyle Kremer, Floor Broekgaarden, and Ethen Nadler (2024/2025). Email one of us if you have any questions or want to be added to the email list, receive the Zoom link, or present at one of the meetings!

Each meeting typically consists of 30 minutes for introductions, updates & news (eg, recent papers / science news / fun plot to show) and 30 minutes of a talk with questions during the talk.
